I’ve had several requests from my friends over at Twitter about the occasional post about my superfood smoothie called “Coconut Berry Feast“. Okay, so many of you out there understand the benefits of quality live whole food and preferably, organic nutrition. We’ve all heard over the years that the government recommends a [u]minimum of 5-9 servings of fruits and veggies on a daily basis, though there are studies that suggest we should be getting at least 12 servings a day, from organic sources, for optimal nutrition.
Being a former raw food juicer, I understood the value of whole food juicing from people like Dr. Paul Bragg and Jack Lalanne who were/are raw whole food advocates. And loved how great I felt when I would juice on a daily basis…but man, what it a labor of love. The time to try to find all the right ingredients at the grocery store, if they had it, then clean the groceries I just bought, get them ready for juicing. Then juice a portion, drink it…and clean up the mess to do it all over again. There had to be a better way! And there is…
What I get on a daily basis from this one smoothie a day gives me more raw nutrition than any juicing recipe or super juice bottles claim to give you. Over a pound of ripe, produce and ingredients are found in an 8 ounce glass of this smoothie. It puts me well on my way to a dozen servings a day of fruits and veggies.
The Coconut Berry Feast is our most popular smoothie that our clients just flat out rave about. It has an AMAZING strawberry flavor mixed with coconut and most people say they actually crave it rather than feeling like it’s something they have to take.
What this includes is: One scoop of The Feast, Our Popular Virgin Coconut Oil, 1 scoop of protein powder like Vegetein, 1 scoop of Beyond Berries and some frozen fruit blended with some water.
The first ingredient I use is a scoop of a live whole food based Instafresh juice powder called The Feast. What is going to SHOCK YOU, is how much nutrition you get in a single scoop. There are over 70+ nutrient dense concentrates from fresh live whole foods...do you think you could get all the following ingredients put into a juicer?
Each serving contains juice and whole powder concentrates from:
30 Antioxidant Rich Fruits & Berries: Purple Grape, Raspberry, Noni Fruit, Mangosteen, Wolfberry-Goji, Acai Berry, Black Currant, Blackberry, Blueberry, Pomegranate, Bilberry, Whole Purple Grape, Elderberry, Cranberry, Strawberry, Acerola Cherry, Pear, Orange, Watermelon, Papaya, Banana, Lemon, Grapefruit, Peach, Prune, Cherry, Plum, Pineapple and Hawthorn Berry in a base of Apple.

22 Resilient Living Probiotics: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus sporogenes, Lactococcus lactis, Lactococcus cremoris, Lactobacillus delbrueckii, Lactobacillus kefir, Leuconostoc cremoris, Lactobacillus caucasicus, Lactobacillus plantarum, Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus helveticus, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus brevis, Bifidobacterium infantis, Bifidobacterium lactis, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium breve and Streptococcus thermophilus.
Next, a handful of frozen, strawberries, blackberries, pineapple along with a scoop of protein powder we use called Vegetein. You can use a half cup of yogurt or some kind of protein powder if you choose.
A tablespoon of raw organic unprocessed coconut oil from Uri International, called Coconut Pure. If you don’t know the value of having coconut oil in your diet, you MUST! Go do your own research on the benefits of organic raw coconut oil. Google it! You’ll be more than mildly surprised at what you learn.
Coconut Pure is produced from fresh, certified organic coconuts. The fresh coconut meat is separated from the shell, finely ground and immediately cold-pressed to produce fresh coconut oil. Rather than using high heat to separate the resulting fresh coconut oil from any coconut milk and water, a centrifuge is used. The product temperature never exceeds 85° F. The end result is organic, extra virgin coconut oil that has not been over-heated, creating a quality, clear coconut oil that retains all of the natural flavor and aroma of fresh coconut.
Then comes a scoop of Beyond Berries from Uri. Beyond Berries is a supreme blend of Nature’s most nutrient rich fruits and berries. Beyond Berries is the one and only product on the planet that delivers a full, synergistic combination of antioxidant rich concentrated fruits and berries. Noni Fruit (Morinda Citrifolia), Mangosteen (Garcinia Mangostana), Wolfberry–Goji (Lycium Barbarum), Acai Berry (Euterpe Oleracea), Black Currant (Ribes Nigrum), Blackberry (Rubus Fruticosus), Blueberry (Vaccinium Corymbosum), Pomegranate (Punica Granatum), Bilberry (Vaccinium Myrtillus), Raspberry (Rubus Idaeus), Whole Purple Grape (Vitis Vinifera), Elderberry (Sambucus Nigra), Cranberry (Vaccinium Macrocarpon), and Strawberry (Fragaria Ananassa) in a base of Apple (Malus Pumila) and Purple Grape (Vitis Vinifera).
And finally 8 ounces of icy cold water. Blend it up for about 5-10 seconds with my stick blender…then it’s YUM time for my tastebuds and an incredible way to get so much quality juice nutrition to start my day! I don’t start a day without it. And I notice a BIG difference from getting such nutrient dense nutrition in a fruit and veggie juice smoothie compared to days when I don’t. The local Seattle coffee shops no longer get my daily quad shot iced espressos anymore!
To supplement your diet and/or give you a boost in the direction of good eating habits this will cost you about $4.00 per day, or the cost of one Starbucks coffee. Many of our clients say they don’t drink as much coffee after drinking this smoothie. I think it might be because of the HIGH nutritional value in this drink mix.
